Saatchi Art: Sixth Sense, Art and Alternate Realities
The power of art lies not only in its ability to reflect the world around us but also in its capacity to transcend it. Artists possess an extraordinary power to uncover the hidden forces that shape our lives, bringing to light the enigmatic through imagination. This uncanny ability to tap into the unseen has driven entire art movements—like Surrealism in the early 1900s—as well as masters of art like mystic and Modernist Hilma af Klint.
The William Vale proudly presents Saatchi Art’s new digital exhibition Sixth Sense. From time travel to alchemy, the collection of works invites viewers to embark on a journey into the otherworldly. Like Klint, artist Raphaella Lima links her creation to a spiritual realm which helps her highlight the sensuous nature of femininity through powerful color and shape. 2022 Rising Star Sonia Bensouda visualizes Surreal states of daydreaming in digital collages that feel neither here nor there, while South Korean artist Hyesoo Han evokes traditional painting styles of East Asia to express the search for a transcendental clarity of mind.
Together, the artists within this exhibition reveal a portal where the surreal and the metaphysical merge beyond tangible experiences.
